Jessi Falloon

Well!

My first blog entry no longer attached to a tertiary institution. As can be expected and, as indicated by my lack of activity on WordPress lately, I have had very little time to update my pages, post new images, or shuffle old ones around. I can assure anyone who follows this blog, that this can now be given at least 80% of the attention it deserves; at least that’s an improvement.

I have graduated from university, and have been almost hurriedly ushered out of the campus’ automatic doors, but can now formally be known as “Jessi Falloon, B.F.A.”. I’m not sure I like the sound of that, so I’ll take ‘Jessi’ any day.

I am not sure what will become of my art practice. I am planning to take up marketing next year, with a possible hint of chemistry, so my plan is to tailor the assignments to keeping my practice going, more efficiently, more educatedly, and with more focus. We’ll see what happens, but the positive feedback I’ve had from my graduate show has been most encouraging, so let’s hope for the best.

Regards,
Jessi.

GRADUATION EXHIBITION

Whitecliffe College of Art & Design Graduate Show

Fourth Year students of Whitecliffe College of Art & Design cordially invite you to attend their annual graduate exhibition. This show will feature the fruits of each student’s final year of the bachelor of fine arts programme, including photography, video, performance, installation, graphic design as well as fashion design.

Work that I have produced will also be exhibited amongst these works. It will encompass a currently undetermined number of video works that focus on manual ways of working, chemical reactions and is heavily influenced by areas of Abstract Expressionism. It specifically concerns itself with action painting and can be seen as a moving form of colour field abstraction.

The exhibition will be held on November 23rd, with a special open day on November 24th, 2012. in the Pearce Gallery. Pearce Gallery is situated on the Whitecliffe College of Art & Design campus, at 130 Saint Georges Bay Road, in Parnell. More information regarding exact times will be available soon.
